We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Addiction Counselor to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Addiction Counselor, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive addiction counseling services to individuals struggling with substance abuse disorders. Senior Addiction Counselor role requires a deep understanding of addiction, strong clinical skills, and the ability to provide compassionate and effective guidance to clients throughout their recovery journey.
Job Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Human Services or related Behavioral Health field of study
Experience
- At least one year of full-time behavioral health work experience
Licensure/registration/certification
- Must hold a license or certification related to mental health, behavioral health, substance abuse disorder or a related field.

Skills
- Meet all clinical deadlines (e.g. with the submission of group notes)

- Strong interpersonal skills, as position continually requires demonstrated professionalism, tact and diplomacy.
- Understands need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with clients, their families, visitors, referral sources and all other contacts.
Knowledge
- Must be able to integrate knowledge of substance abuse treatment into effective therapeutic practice on an individual and group basis.
- Substance abuse and mental health counseling theory
- Familiarity with a broad range of treatment modalities.
- Must be able to relate to a diverse population, often being presented with co-occurring diagnosis.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conducts clinical assessments and develops treatment plans accordingly.
- Plans and carries out individual and group treatment.
- Performs case management tasks as necessary, recording and reporting on client progress to client families and supporters.
- Maintains accurate and complete records for each assigned client.
- Attends scheduled clinical staff meetings, clinical supervision, and other meetings for information exchange, case reviews, and client treatment.
- Must follow the curriculum set forth by the Clinical Director.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director
