Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the CATS Coordinator, Integrated Treatment & Recovery Services, at the Ingham County Jail, serves as a Master’s level professional clinician and will provide substance use and/or co-occurring treatment via individual/group therapy services to incarcerated individuals and the possibility of working with adolescents. Will prioritize, assess and direct consumer treatment options as well as provide therapeutic interventions, could provide case management services. May need to maintain contact with probation officers and could be responsible for compliance with court orders and associated documentation. Maintains the jail’s electronic memo system. Responsible for detailed case documentation and for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field is required or must be obtained within 60 days of application. Possession of an appropriate State of Michigan credential is required or must have applied for and be able to obtain within 60 days of hire. One year of experience (professional or paraprofessional) in treating or working with a person who has a substance use disorder required or one academic year of graduate practicum/internship experience working with persons who have a substance use disorder required. Must be a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) or must become certified within a maximum of 3 years from date of hire or change in regulation. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use required. 

Conditional Employment Requirement: Offers will be contingent upon the results of a background verification & credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, federal background check and fingerprinting required through Ingham County Jail, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, and verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check & verification of an acceptable work history. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Salary/Hours: $57,125-$64,842 annually with scheduled, annual increases that can result in a salary of $74,972. 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday, during business hours. If desired a nontraditional scheduled could be considered.
