Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Crisis Services Coordinator, serves as a Master's level professional clinician performing a wide range of direct and indirect mental health and substance abuse services within a multi-community team to provide immediate crisis intervention services to consumers with a mental illness or a mental illness with a co-occurring substance use disorder. Will work remotely as a part of a comprehensive team partnering with the Lansing Police and Fire Departments, in an effort to provide immediate treatment as identified to individuals experiencing an emergency in the community. Clinician will partner to identify appropriate treatment for stabilization along with the provision of following up, communicating with community partners on an ongoing basis. Responsible for extensive case documentation. Assesses challenging behaviors and emotional trauma by interviewing and observing consumers, reviewing appropriate records and developing a brief crisis intervention plan often using a strength based model. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.
Requirements: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field is required. Possession of an appropriate State of Michigan credential is required, LMSW preferred. A minimum of one year of experience (professional or paraprofessional) working with persons with mental illness required or one academic year of graduate practicum/internship experience working with persons with mental illness required. Preferably, one year of experience in the following areas: clinical diagnostic assessment and evaluation of adults experiencing behavioral health crisis, crisis intervention, brief counseling, and determining hospital eligibility. Must be able to complete extensive documentation within electronic records. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and solid computer skills are preferred. Access to reliable means of transportation for job related use is required.
Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, undergo and pass a Central Registry Screening, verification of an acceptable driving record, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, educational background check and verification of an acceptable work history. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Salary/Hours: $62,430 - $70,280 Sun, Mon, & Tues 12 pm to 12 am and every other Saturday 12 to 8 pm, This is an in-person position no remote or hybrid option available for this position.
