Job description

CM Management is a conglomerate of manufacturing companies specializing in the manufacturing of fine art related items and substrate. Originally based in California, the Company recently moved its headquarters, purchasing a 300,000 square foot building in Austin, Texas. Several of the business lines have been in business more than has more than 30 years. Collectively we have become one of the largest specialty fine art, wall décor frame and substrate manufacturing companies in the country.

Job Description

Cost Analyst will support the Company accounting and finance department in analysis of inventory cost for multiple company business lines. Ideal Candidates will have a high energy, hands-on style; a desire to work at the detail and strategy levels; and want to succeed and grow in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to type. The employee is required to sit for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to see up close, ability to adjust focus and keen eye for detail.

· Must be able to tolerate working in a fast paced environment.

· Must be able to tolerate working in an environment with a moderate level of noise.

· Must be able to accurately follow specific instructions for multiple detailed accounting process.

· Must be reliable.

· Must be able to work flexible hours depending on business demands.

· Must be able to sit for long periods of time as this position is mostly sedimentary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Employees with the title of Cost Analyst must proficiency of all essential job functions listed below. Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop inventory and cost models
  • Maintain and update standard cost as needed
  • Manage all bills of materials in company ERP system
  • Analyze manufacturing operations and the impact on costs
  • Analyze, interpret and communicate costs and expense variances to management
  • Work with management on time and material savings projects
  • Assess current costing process and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Design and maintain weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as requested including sales, gross margin reports etc.

· Assist with various financial projects

· Manage and maintain standard inventory system, establish costing for inventory and determine pricing to achieve optimal profit margins

· Conduct inventory audits

· Continued development and implementation of the cost accounting inventory control process

· Ensure that work area is kept neat, clean, safe, and organized at all times

· Maintain courteous and positive relationship with all co-workers and customers

· Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Management

Qualifications and Requirements

· Analytical skills and capabilities

· Ability to be assertive, self-starter and to function with minimal direction

· Proven business acumen

· Experience with ERP systems such as Sage, Oracle, NetSuite (preferred)

· Experience working for manufacturing company with $100 million in revenue

· Experience with cost analysis, pricing, inventory audits

· Experience and knowledge of Standard and FIFO costing preferred

· Advanced knowledge of Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, etc)

· Must be cost consciousness

· Customer service oriented

· Possess a high level of energy and be able to motivate a team

· Possess ethics, honesty, and integrity

· Possess excellent interpersonal skills

· Possess excellent problem solving skills and be able to identify new and inventive solutions

· Ability to identify process deficiencies and create process improvements

· Ability to maintain professionalism at all times

· Possess strong written and verbal communication skills

Ideal candidates will have a combination of BS/BA in Business Administration, Management, Accounting or Finance, plus three to five years of relevant cost analysis/accounting experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
