Role: Packaging Production Artist

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Hybrid: On-site 3 days a week

Salary: $40-55k DOE

We're seeking a highly motivated production designer with packaging production experience on behalf of our client.

Responsibilities:

• Create and Manage Packaging Design: Develop hand samples for sales calls, pre-production, and internal meetings.
• Update and modify packaging artwork files and create digital mockups.
• Ensure samples and art files include accurate legal markings, NLEA compliance information, and UPC codes.
• Create or modify die lines for packaging construction and generate UPC and UCC barcodes. (Optional: Mention experience with specific design software if relevant)
• Product Photography and Presentation: Photograph and stage product for all lines and seasonal collections.
• Assist with obtaining quotes and placing orders for short-run sample requests.
• Communication and Collaboration: Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, and Product Development teams to fulfill packaging design requests.
• Communicate potential scheduling conflicts effectively to the Traffic Manager.
• Collaborate with other key personnel on packaging projects.
• Project Management and Organization: Prepare and route files to vendors for prepress, samples, and production.
• Maintain image libraries (Photography, Cleanup, Labeling & Filing).
• Update assigned projects and tasks with daily progress notes within the Asana system.
• Maintain workflow records and recommend improvements to processes.
• Quality Assurance: Proofread all artwork thoroughly to ensure compliance with licensor, company, and FDA labeling regulations before submission or sample production.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within an advertising agency or consumer packaged goods (CPG) company.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and strong editing skills in Photoshop.
• Demonstrated history of good communication and collaboration skills.
• Time management and organization skills are necessary to thrive in this position.
• Working knowledge of structural packaging materials and print processes is a plus, but not required.
Experience with 3D printers and photography is a plus.
