April Sound Country Club

Located just north of Houston on the shores of Lake Conroe in Montgomery, Texas, April Sound Country Club is a beautiful private haven featuring 27 holes of championship golf. The breathtaking natural beauty of the sparkling lake and lush woodlands combine with our full range of first-rate amenities to create an inviting atmosphere that feels like home. Explore our 27-hole championship golf course, featuring three distinct courses: the White Nine, the Blue Nine, and the 9-hole Executive course. Carlton Gipson, a distinguished authority in the golf course design industry, has masterfully crafted the layouts of each course at April Sound Country Club. His expertise is reflected in every detail, from the strategic placement of bunkers to the careful positioning of water hazards, ensuring an unforgettable golf experience for players of all levels.

Job Summary

The Director of Golf is responsible for promoting the game of golf through operational structure and programming that provides a "first class" environment for Members and guests. The Director of Golf develops all golf operations department budgets including forecasts to see that all financial goals are met. 

Day-to-Day

• Responsible for all golf operations at the Club, including golf carts, bag room, locker room, golf shop, special tournaments, and Member/Guest events
• Responsible for hiring, training, and developing all staff
• Acute understanding of the critical role that Membership and exceeding expectations play regarding the success of the operation
• Develop aggressive Golf revenue sales, marketing, and net revenue plans
• Direct successful implementations by following established Invited budgeting and revenue guidelines

About You

• College degree preferred
• PGA/LPGA Profession Certification completion required
• Proven track record of team management, organizational and coaching skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of expense control as it relates to payroll and the forecasting and budgeting of expenses
• Experience with tee sheets and inventory systems.
• Diplomatic team player able to foster relationships with Members, Employee Partners and Guests
