The Controller reports directly to the CFO and works closely with upper management and the CFO. The ideal candidate would have accounting leadership roles in manufacturing and multi-unit retail industries and well versed in accounting close processes generation of financial statements. CPA license is preferred. Salesforce, Accounting Seed and NetSuite experience is a plus. This is an on-site position with the ability to work from home one day a week.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS· Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.· Develop team member capability and accounting talent pipeline which supports the company’s growth and strategic goals· Seek out and lead opportunities to improve workflow, automate process and improve controls in a practical, scalable and cost-efficient manner to support the Company growth· Ensure all financial reporting adheres to GAAP; must stay up to date on FASB and other rulings and present strategies to senior leadership that maintain compliance in a practical and scalable manner· Lead period end close process and holds teams accountable to period end calendar· Review prepared journal entries and period end accruals for posting to the general ledger· Oversee international entity consolidation accounting and reporting including monthly business reviews with each international partners· Create and review balance sheet account analysis workpapers· Lead the creation, documentation and implementation of standard operating procedures for both the build shop, retail stores and corporate function· Lead the creation, documentation and implementation of significant accounting policies· Collaborate with the other department managers to support departmental goals and objectives.· Manage the daily banking and cash flow requirements.· Complete quarterly debt covenant calculations on quarterly basis· Oversee gift card accounting including breakage estimates and monthly entries· Act as primary liaison with external audit firm; completes and reviews workpapers, notes to financial statements and reconciliation to internal reporting· Maintain fixed asset ledger and associated reconciliation entries to the general ledger including depreciation, asset disposition, asset transfers, etc.· Update and maintain lease accounting records in accordance with GAAPEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED· Bachelor’s degree in accounting· At least 5 years of experience in corporate accounting function· Manufacturing or multi-unit retail preferred· International experience preferred· CPA required· Experience in building financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills· Highly skilled in accounting and financial processes· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills· Detail oriented and highly organized· Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks· Solid understanding of GAAP· Leader in process improvement and automation· Experience with Salesforce (Accounting Seed) and NetSuite is ideal· Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially ExcelWORK ENVIRONMENT· Office environment where the climate is controlledSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES AND COORDINATION:· Direct reports include Senior level accounting team membersEQUIPMENT USED TO PERFORM THE JOB· Standard office equipment including a computer and phonePHYSICAL ABILITIES· Frequent communication both verbal and written· Demanding level of concentrationClub Champion, an equal opportunity employer, is committed to equal opportunity for all employees and applicants.
