Recreation Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Recreation Supervisor is responsible for the planning, organization and management of Kids Club, Schools Out - Activities, & Day Camps. The recreation supervisor will support Club family programs, and assigned special events.

Supervision Received And Exercised

Receives direction from higher-level management staff. Exercises direct supervision over assigned staff.

Qualifications

· Experience in early childhood programming.

· Studying/in school for early childhood or in school for early childhood development

· Experience in Youth programming.

· Ability to hire, train and supervise staff to result in quality programs.

· Ability to work effectively with, part-time and Administrative staff to reach the goals of the Club.

· Ability to work with the members in an effective manner.

• Respond appropriately to changing situations.

·

· Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.

· First Aid, CPR, and AED certified, or able to be certified within 1 month of hiring.

· Administer first aid, CPR, and AED, as needed.

· Any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

• Maintain order and safety in a crowded and noisy environment.

Essential Functions

· Communicate with the Sports Director on issues that are related to the Recreation Supervisor. This includes programming, member relations, and supervising part-time staff.

· Develop and implement quality recreation programs that meet the needs of the members as well as the long and short-term goals of the Club.

· Support in hiring candidates, supervise and train part-time employees to provide quality recreation programming in a safe atmosphere for both participants and staff.

· Develop, manage, and coordinate all recreation programs.

Working Conditions

· Incumbents may be assigned an irregular work schedule, including weekends, evenings, and around the holidays

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 40 per week
