We're seeking experienced Travel and/or Local AM or PM Shift Bed Coordinators for a 13-week contract assignment (local or travel, with the probability of extending) in various locations in Brooklyn, New York. Must be an RN.

We are hiring Bed Coordinators in Brooklyn, NY for an immediate need!

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assigns patients to available beds to avoid delays in patient arrival to units.
Communicates with the physicians and nursing units, to ensure appropriate placement of patients in a timely manner.
Promotes optimum utilization of hospital beds; communicates with staff regarding bed availability and current census.
Confirms beds are assigned based on level of care.
Address any conflicts or issues arising from dissatisfaction with bed assignments.
Participates in interdisciplinary rounds and conducts daily walking rounds to assess and reassess areas of gridlock.
Maintains communication with admitting office frequently each day regarding patient movement within the facility and within the system.
Utilizes a triage technique when patient placement and bed demands are high.

Skills/Experience:

A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a clinical environment, preferably intensive care/emergency department nursing.
Previous throughput experience preferred. Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrated ability to direct and triage in a highly fluid dynamic operational environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and assess and triage clinical critical patient needs.
Excellent prioritization and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to implement, support and effectively monitor change required.
Ability to collaborate with all layers of the management/administrative team.
