Job Description: Security Analyst
Location: Redmond, WA (3 days per week)

Travel: Potential international travel required (infrequent, up to 10%)

About the Role:

  • We are seeking a skilled and proactive Security Analyst to join our Security Team. This mid-level role is crucial for conducting security investigations, enhancing data protection measures, and collaborating across diverse teams to bolster the organization’s data security posture.
  • The position offers a dynamic environment for strategic contributions and high-impact projects in a mission-focused organization that frequently pivots to adjust to rapid research developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough security investigations to determine the nature of data egress events.
  • Collaborate with support organizations including Global Security, DSR, Customer IT, Nation State Threat Teams, and the Insider Threat team, with interactions limited to mid-level personnel.
  • Contribute insights and recommendations for the development and refinement of data security strategies and policies.
  • Participate in projects aimed at developing new security methodologies, improving investigative processes, or enhancing data protection measures.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions based on investigative findings and cross-team collaborations to foster continuous improvement in security practices and tools.
  • Work on significant impact projects that contribute to the safeguarding of Customer’s computing data and assets.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences in a concise manner.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to analyze complex information.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across varied teams and for articulating complex information clearly.
  • Understanding of data analysis, counterintelligence principles, and the ability to apply these in a security context.
  • Basic experience with scripting in PowerShell or Python.
  • Adaptive and collaborative, with a strong problem-solving orientation.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in a variety of security tools and technologies, including but not limited to Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Office 365, Azure Security Center, Azure DevOps, and Power BI.
  • Willingness to engage in international travel as required.
  • Comfortable working in an unstructured environment and adaptable to the dynamic needs of a smaller organization.
  • Enjoys working autonomously and takes initiative while having the support needed to be successful.

Work Environment and Expectations:

  • The role involves a blend of onsite and remote work, with the expectation to be onsite at least three days a week.
  • Active participation in cross-functional collaboration and projects, offering a unique opportunity for operational impact within Customer security domain.
  • Part of a small but impactful security team, where innovation is encouraged and the impact exceeds the team’s numbers.

This position presents an exciting opportunity for an individual with expertise in security analysis and a keen interest in contributing to the forefront of data security. The Security Analyst will play a key role in shaping the security strategies that protect Customer’s sensitive computing innovations.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Scripting: 5 years (Preferred)
  • Security analyst: 10 years (Preferred)
