Overview:

We are seeking a Technical Solution Architect to join our team for a project supporting the New York State Office of Information Technology Services (NYS ITS). As a Technical Solution Architect, you'll be responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of technical solutions that meet business needs while adhering to all policies and standards. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, architect solutions, and ensure successful delivery. Your expertise in technology, architecture, and problem-solving will be critical in driving the success of projects.

Required Job Duties:

• Design end-to-end technical solutions that address business requirements and align with architecture principles and standards. Develop solution architectures, technical specifications, and system designs.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams throughout the solution development lifecycle. Collaborate with architects, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with architectural best practices.
• Work closely with user experience, business analysts, and business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements. Translate business requirements into technical solutions, considering factors such as scalability, performance, security, and usability.
• Evaluate new and emerging technologies to determine their suitability for inclusion in a technical solutions catalog. Conduct proof-of-concept evaluations and provide recommendations for technology adoption.
• Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them. Ensure that solutions adhere to security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Engage with stakeholders at all levels to communicate technical solutions, gather feedback, and address concerns. Present technical proposals and recommendations to executive leadership and other key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure that technical solutions are implemented according to design specifications. Provide technical oversight and support during the implementation phase.
• Drive continuous improvement in solution architecture processes and practices. Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance solution quality.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in solution architecture, software development, or a related technical role.
• Strong technical background with expertise in multiple technology domains, such as cloud computing, microservices architecture, databases, and integration technologies.
• Experience with software development methodologies and practices, such as Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly understand and address technical challenges.
• Knowledge of security, compliance, and regulatory requirements relevant to technical solution design.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams and leading technical discussions and decision-making processes.
