Job Overview:

We are seeking an organized individual to join our team at Closet Factory as a Quality Control Specialist and Production Assistant. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, completeness, and correctness of cabinet parts, receiving, and organizing shipments, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the shop environment, and conducting final checks and preparations for project installations.

Responsibilities:

1. Quality Control:

- Inspect cabinet parts for quality, ensuring adherence to established standards and specifications.

- Identify defects, inconsistencies, or imperfections in cabinet parts and report findings to the appropriate personnel.

- Conduct visual and tactile inspections to verify smoothness, alignment, and overall finish of cabinet parts.

- Verify that all required components and hardware are included with each cabinet part order.

- Check dimensions, measurements, and labeling to ensure accuracy and correctness of cabinet parts.

- Coordinate with production and assembly teams to address any discrepancies or missing items.

- Record production data using computer software.

2. Final Project Check and Preparation:

- Conduct a final check of all pieces required for each project, including required accessories and hardware.

- Ensure that all components are accurately labeled and organized for easy identification.

- Prepare the job for the installer by packaging and labeling all necessary items and providing clear instructions as needed.

3. Receiving and Organization:

- Receive incoming shipments of materials, supplies, and cabinet parts.

- Unload, unpack, and organize items in designated storage areas, ensuring proper labeling and inventory tracking.

- Maintain accurate records of received shipments, including quantities, descriptions, and any discrepancies.

4. Shop Organization Oversight:

- Supervise and ensure overall organization of the shop environment.

- Delegate tasks related to cleaning and organization to appropriate team members if necessary.

- Monitor cleanliness standards and address any areas requiring attention.

5. Assistance and Collaboration:

- Assist production and assembly teams as needed to meet production deadlines and customer requirements.

- Collaborate with colleagues to optimize workflow, prioritize tasks, and address any issues or concerns that arise.

- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of tasks.

- Occasionally provide support in other departments, such as edge banding, saw operation, or drawer assemble, as needed to meet production demands.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Previous experience in a manufacturing or woodworking environment preferred.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality control.

- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and inventory tracking.

- Forklift certification and experience operating a forklift safely.

- Ability to lift and move heavy objects and materials safely.

- Good communication skills and willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
