POSITION DESCRIPTION
FULL-TIME NURSING FACULTY
DEPARTMENT: Nursing
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt – Full Time
SALARY RANGE: $50,000-$55,000 Annually
FUNCTION: To provide quality instruction and academic advisement to all students
enrolled at Clinton College. Full Time nursing faculty are to motivate each student to
participate in all class activities so that he or she may achieve to their maximum
potential. The faculty plan learning activities to meet course outcomes and meet the
standards set by policies, legal and other regulatory requirements. The faculty also
participates in the program’s evaluation and continuous improvement processes. It is
expected that the nursing faculty willingly accepts the mission and philosophy of the
nursing program and demonstrates behaviors consistent with the profession.
REPORTS TO: Director of Nursing
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keeps accurate records of all student grades, attendance, and other required
- Demonstrate fair and impartial evaluations for all students enrolled in course(s).
- Prepares and maintains all final grade reports for students.
- Meets scheduled classes.
- Prepares a syllabus for each class.
- Distributes syllabus to students on the first day of class.
- Participates in the Faculty Council.
- Mentors and advises students.
- Participates in academic committees.
- Carries out special assignments that are requested by the Director of Nursing.

Clinical Practice:
Full-time faculty in nursing are employed to perform teaching and other instructional
related duties depending upon the needs of Clinton College. The full-time week
includes but is not limited to: assigned teaching, advising, office hours, preparation,
committee meetings, college and community service, curriculum development and
any other assigned duties and responsibilities. Since nursing is a practice discipline,
Clinton College recognizes that faculty members who engage in clinical practice enrich
our academic environment. Competency and currency in clinical practice are valued
attributes to the role of a full-time nursing faculty member. Consequently, the full-
time work week for nursing faculty may include time for clinical practice that does not
conflict with other duties of the nursing faculty role. Clinical practice time will be
approved by the Director of Nursing, Division Chair, and Vice President of Academic
Services.

Employment at Clinton College is contingent upon a background check that is
satisfactory to the College. Failure to provide written authorization for a background
check will nullify the offer of employment. Candidate must be fully vaccinated and
boosted.
