GENERAL SUMMARY:With guidance and direction of their leadership, the Facilitator -Clinical Quality Iperforms project work of a complex nature with interdisciplinary groups that includeadministrators, nursing and medical leaders. Co-leads large system teams and leadprojects at a business unit level. Acts as a consultant or facilitator on regulatory, diseasecertification, patient safety and quality issues. With guidance, designs and deliverseducational programs to assist employees, physicians and leadership, meet safety andquality goals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to direct, facilitate and coordinate the design and implementation of clinicalquality and patient safety initiatives, programs and projects at the business unit level;provide project management support to clinical improvement initiatives.
  • Assesses project needs based on evidenced based best practice(s) and/orregulatory standards; Guides the selection of appropriate team members to addressproject needs; Guides and/or develops a work plan including timelines; Ensuresteams are organized through meeting agendas and a method to document goals,responsibility and progress; Demonstrates the ability to develop an effectivecommunication plan (including education if appropriate);Seeks leadership guidanceappropriately to assist with the identification of obstacles/barriers to success.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the science of process improvementand provides formal and informal consultation to all members of the health careteam and support staff, external customers (including students), and administrativestaff in process improvement methodologies, performance measurement, sustainand spread methodologies
  • Applies various quality improvement processes/tools and ability to initiate, design,and develop process improvement projects and programs based on organizationalneeds; Researches “best practices” as initial step; Assists in choice of appropriatemeasures; Assists in design of the methodology for data collection; Assists inanalysis and interpretation of data; Guides testing of changes, and specifically smalltests of change

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field is required; Master’s degree in Nursingor a related field preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of clinical experience required withtwo years project management experience preferred.
  • Experience in the delivering educational programs is an asset.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Current RN licensure in the State of Michigan, preferred.
