The Emergency Department Social Worker will work Monday through Friday, day shift, working out of the Emergency Department and a nearby outpatient clinic. The Emergency Department Social Worker will be responsible for psychosocial screening, assessment, diagnosis treatment, providing external resources or referrals as needed, and follow up for the patients and families. Emergency Department Social Worker is also accountable for completing all written reports in a timely fashion, maintaining patient records as required by law and Medical center policy, and continuously cross-collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, case management, and external providers as needed.
Communication is key for the Emergency Department Social Worker when presenting information to the patients and families. The ideal Emergency Department Social Worker holds their Master’s Degree in Social work (MSW) from an accredited institution, and a current Licensed Master Social Work (LMSW or LCSW). The Emergency Department Social Worker should have prior social work experience in a hospital setting, ideally in an emergency department.
Residing in the greater New York area, the Emergency Department Social Worker will work at a facility located just outside of New York City, easily commutable from the city or suburbs of New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut.
