A leading acute care hospital located in southeastern New York is now searching for an experienced Behavioral Health Social Worker to join their award-winning healthcare team.

This state-of-the-art medical center provides a number of patient care services including behavioral health, oncology services, cardiopulmonary and vascular services, emergency and critical care, radiology services, maternity and pediatric care, wound and home care, and much more.

As part of an interdisciplinary care team, the Behavioral Health Social Worker will coordinate referral development and pre-admission patient assessments for potential clients. Other responsibilities include working with patients presenting behavioral health needs within an inpatient emergency department setting, providing recommendation for treatment or referral to ED Physician, uses medical necessity for patient placement, and ensures compliance with state and federal standards. 

What’s Needed to Succeed:

• Behavioral Health degree from an accredited school or university
• License as LMSW or ability to obtain
• Prior working experience in behavioral health or emergency setting
