Reporting to the Obstetrics Services Nursing Manager, the Birthing Center Assistant Nurse Manager will support, reinforce, and help develop the mission of the organization and department. Supporting this person are strong Clinical Charge Nurses who oversee the Labor & Delivery Rooms, as well as an amazing team of dedicated RNs.
At the heart of this Baby Friendly Women’s & Children’s health program is an outstanding Labor and Delivery unit and an award winning Postpartum unit. The 10-bed Labor and Delivery unit sees over 150 births per month, and are staffed around the clock by a team of experts. The 18-beds Mother/Baby Postpartum unit has worked hard over the years to improve key clinical metrics. The Assistant Nurse Manager will get to work closely with Certified Nurse Midwives, a 24/7 team of providers that include high-risk Nurse Practitioners and MDs, Patient Care Technicians, CNAs, and other support staff.
Experience in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum or Couplet Care, or even Neonatal ICU would prove very valuable for the Birth Center Assistant Nurse Manager, and would likely lead to a fast interview. The ANM will support administrative duties such as scheduling, staffing, and utilization management processes. As the Clinical Supervisor / Leader for the Birthing Center, the Assistant Manager will reinforce this nursing program’s focus on clinical integrity, evidence-based practices, and Magnet-journey excellence. Working closely with Nursing Management from Women’s and Children’s, Case Management, and Medical Surgical, you’ll assist in the development of policies and procedures that will carry this organization into the next generation of patient care.
