Climbing Tree Community School is Hiring an Interim Lead Kindergarten Teacher Near Tucson, AZ

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Interim Lead Kindergarten Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. As an Interim Lead Kindergarten Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young learners. This position will be a temporary role to cover a maternity leave, with the potential for extension based on performance and the school's needs.

Duties

Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Development: Create and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans, activities, and assessments to support the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth of kindergarten students.
  2. Classroom Management: Maintain a well-organized and engaging classroom environment that fosters a love for learning, collaboration, and positive behavior.
  3. Individualized Support: Identify and address the unique needs of each student, offering extra support or enrichment as necessary, and fostering a sense of inclusion in the classroom.
  4. Parent Communication: Establish open and proactive communication with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on students' progress and participating in parent-teacher conferences.
  5. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow educators, support staff, and administration to create a cohesive and positive school culture, sharing best practices and working collectively to enhance the educational experience.
  6. Safety and Welfare: Ensure the safety and well-being of students by implementing all school policies and procedures, including emergency protocols and adherence to health and safety regulations.
  7. Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in early childhood education and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; a teaching certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience teaching kindergarten or a similar age group.
  • Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude to thrive in an interim role.
Nice To Haves
  • Experience with First Things First and working in a Quality First Program.
  • Knowledge of NAEYC standards.
