SUMMARY: Manages census development and admission and pre-admission processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. Oversees and manages census/admissions processes. This includes but is not limited to: positively and proactively obtaining admissions, assisting with admission and discharge processes, verifying benefits, if applicable, meeting census objectives, regular review of census goals with appropriate persons, developing and maintaining the reputation of the facility as a reliable source.
2. Develops and maintains a system of managing contacts with potential residents. This includes but is not limited to: establishing and maintaining a network of contacts, generating lead activity, regularly reporting on public relations and census matters to Executive Director/designee, working within and providing input on census budgets, and assisting with census development ideas and activities.
3. Organizes and tailors census focus consistent with facility objectives. This includes but is not limited to: assessing unique census needs for community and facility, understanding and meeting short and long term census objectives of facility, and maintaining a census program to meet objectives.
4. Maintains a consistent, positive and professional communication process. This includes but is not limited to: regularly communicating with outreach contacts, prospects, residents, staff members, and with department and other managers; communicating census policies and procedures to staff; relating facility policies/procedures, including those relating to payment; attending meetings; and communicating relevant matter to Executive Director/designee.
5. Assist with and organizes demographic information. This includes but is not limited to: maintaining current information about competitor demographics; regularly visiting comparable facilities; timely reporting results of visits; developing advertising consistent with outreach to relevant demographics; ongoing review of general news, local, regional and national media; healthcare publications to gain and communicate insight into matters affecting successful operations.
6. Assists with facility education and outreach programs. This includes but is not limited to: developing relationships with the larger community, senior organizations, banks, and competitors, and implementing new programs or reaching seniors by hosting events, engaging in public speaking and otherwise promoting the facility.
7. Ensures proper documentation is maintained. This includes but is not limited to: timely completion of census development, and other reports such as: admissions documentation, discharge, referral data, contact follow-up and other census, move-in/move-out, or related activities.
8. As directed, assists with performance of quality assessment and assurance functions.
9. Assists with development and updating census policies and procedures to reflect the philosophy of the facility, professional standards, and legal requirements. 
10. As directed, assists with survey processes.
11. In an emergency, carries out assigned duties to assure resident and employee safety.
12. Maintains and applies current skills and knowledge through continuing education and in-service programs.
13. Carries out responsibilities in compliance with federal, state, local laws and regulations, and with facility philosophy, policies and procedures.
14. Excellent interpersonal skills with high level of energy and enthusiasm. Ability to organize, document, and implement detailed programs. Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to speak, understand and read the English language to the extent necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
15. This position requires standing, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds or more, bending, climbing, twisting upper body, walking, running, carrying, listening, talking, use of telephone, and exposure to medical equipment and persons with risk of illness.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Meets state and federal requirements. At least 1 year of long-term care experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Driver’s license per position requirements.
