Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Handyman to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in a variety of tasks ranging from basic repairs and maintenance to more complex installations and renovations. The Handyman will be responsible for ensuring that all facilities and equipment are in good working condition and that any issues are addressed promptly and effectively. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaks, lubricating hinges, etc.
Conduct repairs on plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and other mechanical systems.
Install fixtures, appliances, and equipment according to specifications.
Handle minor carpentry, painting, and drywall repairs.
Troubleshoot issues and determine the best course of action for resolution.
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and prioritize tasks as needed.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.
Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards at all times.
Assist with renovations and remodeling projects as directed.
Collaborate with other team members and contractors as necessary.
Provide exceptional customer service to residents, guests, and staff.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Handyman or similar role.
Strong knowledge of general maintenance and repair techniques.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus.
Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities management role.
Certification in specific trades (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
