Description

As a Supplier Quality Engineer at Click Bond, Inc, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the quality and compliance standard for a wide range of fastening solutions. You should also be familiar with AS9100, Quality Management Systems and RCCA (root cause corrective action). You will collaborate with our suppliers to drive quality improvements, assess supplier capabilities, and ensure that our supply chain meets the highest aerospace industry standards. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on their capabilities, quality systems, and adherence to industry standards. Conduct regular supplier audits and assessments.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures for suppliers.
  • Develop incoming inspection work instructions and forms.
  • Utilize risk analysis methodologies to determine incoming inspection needs and align inspection techniques with suppliers.
  • Ensure purchase order flow down of drawing, contract, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the processing of product returns.
  • Monitor supplier performance, track quality metrics, and drive corrective actions when necessary.
  • Work closely with suppliers to improve product quality, resolve quality issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Foster strong relationships with key suppliers
  • Ensure that suppliers meet aerospace industry quality standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001 and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate and identify root causes of quality issues, non-conformities, and defects. Implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to improve their manufacturing processes, product quality, and reliability. Provide guidance and support to suppliers in implementing best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of supplier assessment, quality audits, and corrective actions. Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify potential risks within the supply chain and develop risk mitigation strategies to ensure a consistent and reliable supply of materials.
  • Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
  • Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CB policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of aerospace quality standards, such as AS 91000, NADCAP.
  • Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills addressing quality issues, non-conformities, and defects efficiently.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
  • Working knowledge of aerospace industry quality standards, regulations, and certification requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills for collaboration with suppliers, internal customers, and external customers.
  • Knowledge of quality and manufacturing systems processes and applicable Customer Requirements and Industry Standards / Specifications as well as a Practical knowledge of Quality Systems including AS9100, CFRs, etc, is required.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Detail-oriented and results-driven, with a commitment to quality excellence.
  • Strong auditing skills are necessary for evaluating supplier quality management systems and conducting supplier audits effectively.
  • Strong project management skills in managing supplier improvement projects, tracking progress, and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze data, quality metrics, and performance indicator to make informed decisions and drive improvements.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Ability to write and read English.

  • Teamwork: Collaboration and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams is important for the success in this role.
  • Adaptability: The aerospace industry is dynamic, and adaptability to changes in regulations, technologies, and supplier landscapes is valuable.
  • Ethical Conduct: Adherence to ethical standards and integrity is essential, especially when dealing with supplier relationships.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering or related roles within the relevant industry.
  • Prior experience specifically in supplier quality engineering is essential. This includes auditing suppliers, managing supplier relationships, and driving quality improvements. Previous experience in a supplier quality engineering role within the aerospace industry is preferred.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
• ASQ Certified Quality Auditor preferred, AS9100 Lead auditor preferred.
