Registered Nurse, Behavioral Health Unit, PRN

Minden Medical Center of Minden, LA is seeking to hire a Registered Nurse (RN) PRN to provide exceptional patient care in our Behavioral Health department.

As a Behavioral Health Unit RN you will be responsible for assessing, implementing, and evaluating care for patients with psychiatric diagnoses within our facility. You will report directly to the Behavioral Health Unit Nurse Manager. This position works in conjunction with other members of nursing service, ancillary services, physicians, patients, and families. It collaborates with various members of our healthcare team to ensure quality of care across the continuum and requires the ability to be self-directed and quality focused. Interpersonal communication skills are a necessary function of this position.

Hours of Position:

This position is a PRN (as needed) position. We have three different tiers of PRN options that are available for PRN employees which include different levels of commitment while being compensated according to whichever tier the PRN nurse is able to commit to.

Department Summary:

Our Behavioral Health Unit is 55 year and older psychiatric unit licensed for 20 beds located on the fifth floor of our hospital.

The environment on our unit is fast-paced, caring, and compassionate.

We care for patients with psychiatric diagnoses, including those with dementia with dementia behaviors requiring inpatient treatment for the safety of the patient.

One of the perks of working on our Behavioral Health Unit is the amazing teamwork shown by all staff members. Our nurses are successful because they have the knowledge, kindness, and desire to make a difference. We orient new nurses to our unit by placing them with a preceptor and tailoring their orientation to their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
  • Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
  • Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.

Requirements:


License:
Licensed as a RN to practice in the state of Louisiana

Experience: One year RN experience preferred experience performing duties in a Healthcare setting.
