Cleveland Public Library is Hiring a Training and Engagement Coordinator Near Cleveland, OH

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing day-to-day support of training including onboarding, initial and ongoing training and engagement initiatives.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Diploma; Associate degree preferred

Experience:

1. Five years’ administrative support experience in a fast-paced environment; preferably in a Human Resource or training department.

2. Three years’ experience conducting training programs for employees preferred.

3. Experience working in a library, preferably a public library in an urban environment.

Technical Expertise:

1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various organizational levels.

2. Experience in various online platforms and software.

3. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.

4. Intermediate proficiency in MS Office.

Driver License: Required

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide logistical and technical support for group training. This may include, but is not limited to: scheduling and setting up training rooms, HIPPO requests, graphic requests, etc.

2. Serve as primary point of contact between HR, managers and new hires related to new staff orientation, schedules, etc.

3. Assist with volunteer and employee engagement initiatives and activities.

4. Assist with the updates of course curriculum and training materials. Manage preparation and production of training materials.

5. Assist with conducting or facilitating training programs.

6. Maintain learning and development and staff engagement pages on Staff Intranet.

7. Provide day-to-day outreach efforts to new hires to ensure comprehension; provide remedial training/support as needed.

8. Ensure orientation and training recordkeeping for new hires and promotions.

9. Oversee management of MUNIS training courses. Track Employee training in MUNIS.

10. Assist with or deliver special new staff orientation programs as required for individuals/positions that are unable to attend regular orientations (substitutes, pages, youth still in school, etc.)

11. Other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

1. The library environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of offices, which includes the need for general safe workplace practices with office equipment and computers, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations.

2. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

3. This position is performed in an office setting although frequent offsite meetings in various settings occur.

4. There is no set schedule for this position due to the requirements to attend meetings and events before or after normal workings hours and occasionally on weekends and evenings.

5. Ability to stand and present for up to eight (8) hours per day.

6. Lift light objects less than 20 pounds and carry them short distances 20 feet or less; occasionally heavier objects.

7. Reach overhead and bend/kneel to shelve books weighing up to three pounds

8. Remain in a standing position for extended periods of time while performing a variety of tasks

9. Perform repetitive hand, arm, and body movements, including lifting books on a continuous basis for up to an eight-hour shift.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $42,600.00 per year
