Ideastream Public Media, a Cleveland-based multiple media organization and home to Ohio’s largest NPR, PBS and classical radio stations, continues to expand its news and information, arts and entertainment, classical and education services to 22 counties in Northeast Ohio. As part of that expansion, Ideastream seeks a collaborative leader and professional to serve as Director of Individual Giving and Communications (Director). Reporting to the Chief Development and Marketing Officer, the Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership to Ideastream Public Media’s Individual Giving and Communications department to increase giving, inspire donors, and grow the donor base. In this role, the Director develops annual strategies and budgets for marketing, communications, acquisition, retention, and engagement programs while ensuring a collaborative approach to individual giving with an integration of efforts through the entire donor pipeline. The Director will also develop strategies and lead the implementation of annual individual giving operating plans, support all individual giving fundraising efforts, analyzes and evaluates program performance, and manages relationships and contracts with internal departments and third-party vendors to achieve performance objectives and visibility for Ideastream. This position has four direct reports: Broadcast Fundraising Manager, Individual Giving Communications Manager, Individual Operations and Relationships Manager, and Senior Manager of Sustaining Donors and Engagement.

Qualified candidates will have a proven track record in institutional giving including experience with face-to-face solicitations and direct mail, knowledge of print and electronic communications production, be proficient with fundraising and CRM software and have strong organizational, time management, communication, and decision-making skills. A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field, and seven to ten years of fundraising, marketing, or communications experience including five years of supervisory experience is preferred, though equivalent experience in related fields and education will be considered. The starting salary for this position is $115,000 and is commensurate with experience.
