As a Vendor Manager, you will be responsible for managing the relationships and performance of new and existing vendor partners. The Vendor Manger plays a vital role in effective collaboration between Cleveland Clinic’s vendors, the Vendor Management Office, and internal stakeholders. Some of your primary duties will include:

  • Driving adherence to the contract and to Cleveland Clinic policies and procedures.

  • Actively accessing vendor performance and vendor risk profiles.

  • Optimizing vendor relationships through performance and operational efficiencies.

  • Effectively and efficiently managing the entire vendor lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement vendor segmentation in coordination with Sourcing Team and Business Service Area
  • Identify vendor optimization opportunities and communicate recommendations to appropriate leadership.
  • Work with Third-Party Risk Management to monitor and mitigate risks associated with vendor throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Align with vendor partners and internal stakeholders to facilitate business reviews; evaluate contract compliance, performance expectations and improvements, and maintain alignment to organizational goals and initiatives.
  • Drive accountability for contract performance management, including SLA and KPI metrics.
  • Under the guidance of vendor management leadership and framework; coordinate with vendor, Sourcing Team, and Business Service Area to address and remedy failed performance metrics through root cause and corrective action.
  • Manage and audit vendor invoicing, budget utilization, and financial health and performance.
  • Communicate and drive strategic requirements established by key stakeholders and Business Service Areas.
  • Develop and execute mitigation plans when risks and gaps are identified in accordance with existing risk management programs and policies.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and vendors to resolve operational challenges, address service interruptions, and ensure timely problem resolution.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for vendor-related issues, escalations, and communications
  • Analyze and evaluate continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, cost reduction, and improve service quality.
  • Prepare reporting on vendor performance, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas of improvement; present findings and provide recommendations for vendor-related decisions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required in supply chain management, transportation and logistics, business or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy-to-understand business terms.
  • Proven ability to negotiate, influence, and understand complex business strategies.
  • Ability to collaborate and partner with a multidisciplinary team.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in forecasting, inventory, contract management, analytical project management, or other related supply chain experience.
  • Experience with key financial and non-financial contract terms, legal issues, and contract analysis. Ability to review, enhance, change and write contract language to exact terms and conditions required for prudent purchasing and sourcing practice.

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
  • Requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking to various locations to attend meetings.
  • Must have normal or corrected vision and clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $36.80

Maximum hourly: $56.13

A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education.
