A 36-bed unit located within Cleveland Clinic’s Taussig Cancer Institute, G70 Hematology/Oncology Nursing Unit cares for patients receiving chemotherapy, targeted cancer therapies, radioactive iodine and other types of radiation therapies. Our nursing unit focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of many varied malignancies and hematologic diseases. The care we provide integrates the delivery of multidisciplinary care to a complex patient population from admission to discharge.
As an Assistant Nurse Manager in our G70 Hematology & Oncology Unit, you will provide administrative, clerical, and practical support for the nurse manager.Your primary duties will include but are not limited to:
• Facilitating communication and collaboration among unit staff and other departments.
• Ensuring continuity of patient care information between shifts, coordinates patient admitting, discharges, transfers, and other operational issues.
• Reviewing major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers.
• Provides ongoing clinical evaluations of nurses and other direct and indirect patient care provided on assigned unit/area.
• Counseling employees on performance issues, administers initial corrective actions, and collaborates in monitoring attendance issues.
The potential future caregiver is someone who:

• Can schedule and manage tasks effectively.
• Has written and verbal communication skills.
• Has teamwork and motivational skills.
