Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opening for a Quality Analyst with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) experience. As a Quality Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting daily quality activities related to inspection and NDT of plate products to military and commercial steel plate products. The Quality analyst manages the compliance and accuracy of the entire NDT program, including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), and Visual & Dimensional Inspection. Ideal candidates will have prior NDT experience and certifications,steel industry experience, be self-motivated, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment with complex operations.
Summary of Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Possess the ability to work effectively within a team environment, utilizing clear and effective communication skills.
Training and qualification of all NDT personnel, as well as approving NDT procedures and processes to meet military specification requirements.
Adjudicate any questionable NDT results for suitability to specifications.
Setting up procedures and systems to verify and record the calibration and accuracy of all NDT equipment.
Audit weld-repair program per military specification requirements.
As an expert in NDT methods, participate in all internal and external audits and certify that methods employed meet both industry and customer requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
ASNT NDT Level III certification in NDT for Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Die Penetrant Testing, and Visual & Dimensional Inspection.
Strong problem solving and data analysis skills.
Interpersonal skills and the ability to operate effectively within a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of various specification including, but not limited to, ASTM, ASME, PED, AMS, MIL as well as ISO 9001 QMS.
Ideal candidates will have 2 to 8 years of experience dealing with manufacturing processes.
Experience with steel production is a plus.
Die Penetrant inspection experience.
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineer or related field .
Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
