Cleveland-Cliffs Lake Superior & Ishpeming Railroad has an immediate opportunity for a Maintenance of Way Laborer at our Negaunee, MI location.

This role is responsible for safely and efficiently performing work as a crewmember. Constructing, repairing, maintaining, and dismantling / installing tracks, switches and right of ways using hand tools and equipment.

Starting Pay (90% of rate) : $ with scheduled step progression. This position falls under a collective bargaining agreement and wages are not negotiable.

Summary of Responsibilities :

• Ensure compliance with all company policies, applicable rules and regulations for safety, operations and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA).
• Observes and inspects track for problems or defects.
• Performs track maintenance, repair and installation and rigging of materials.
• Reads and understands blueprints, regulations and instructions.
• Works with basic hand and power tools.
• Performs general housekeeping and cleanup.
