QUALIFICATIONS
REPORTS TO Principal
JOB GOALS To support students and lead them toward the fulfillment of their potential for academic growth and to communicate with parents/guardians of ESL students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Valid Tennessee teacher’s license with appropriate endorsement
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Meets health and physical requirements
- Ability to work cooperatively, effectively, and respectfully with staff, parents,
- and students from diverse backgrounds
- Bilingual, preferred
- FLSA
JOB GOALS To support students and lead them toward the fulfillment of their potential for academic growth and to communicate with parents/guardians of ESL students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plans for appropriate instruction to support grade level standards
- Administers diagnostic tests and evaluates student’s progress on a regular basis
- Maintains records of all ESL students and their status
- Communicates with teachers and parents to support the academic development of ESL students
- Assists with translation and interpretation services when needed
- Performs other work duties when assigned
