Cleveland Area Hospital is Hiring a Chief Nursing Officer Near Cleveland, OK

Chief Nursing Officer

Cleveland Area Hospital is an independent facility half an hour west of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The hospital offers emergency, laboratory, radiology, inpatient care, outpatient infusion, and nurse care services, a fully equipped rehabilitation center, and a thriving seven-provider primary care clinic. The organization is a Regional Healthcare Provider in its 10th year of consistent leadership.

Both the Hospital and Clinic have been on a consistent trajectory of growth and progress, and patient volumes and revenues have doubled. We are on course to continue this growth, and we would like the opportunity to share more about our success with dedicated individuals who are interested in joining a team that is growing and a facility that is expanding. We are in the top 10% of 80 Rural Oklahoma Hospitals, based on the most recent average 3-year total margin reported in Medicare Cost Report files (sources: data.cms.gov, shepscenter.unc.edu, https://ruralhospitals.chqpr.org/Data1.html).

As an independent, self-managed, non-profit healthcare system governed by a local board of trustees, the organization successfully empowers team members to make a positive impact. Stable management and strong leadership preserve the culture and stability of Cleveland Area Hospital by prioritizing organizational fit, character, and work ethic when considering additions to the team. The support of the clinical team and front-line staff ensures the focus remains centered on quality patient care and expansion of services. We completed a $3M expansion of our Primary Care Clinic in 2023. We have invested 6 years in pursuing USDA Funding for a replacement hospital, and this CNO Leadership role is an opportunity to be an essential part of that success.

Our existing CNO has done a fabulous job of supporting the nursing team and collaborating across the departments in our organization.

POSITION SUMMARY:

We seek a strategic, inspirational leader who will capitalize on our success and prepare the organization for our ongoing growth. The Chief Nursing Officer will maintain and enhance the focus and engagement of the nursing team around a well-articulated vision of commitment to patient care, clinical excellence, and organization-wide collaboration.

The Chief Nursing Officer will report to the Chief Executive Officer and provide leadership to the nursing department by creating a framework of educational services that promote growth and development along with the orientation and training of new employees. In addition, the CNO will be responsible for coaching and mentoring to enhance team performance and ongoing recruiting and onboarding of staff.

  • Passionate about Patient care.

  • Skilled with communication and collaboration with Internal Medicine Physicians overseeing the Inpatients.
  • Skilled with communication and collaboration with board-certified Emergency Medicine physicians onsite 24/7.

EDUCATION/SKILLS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

The candidate must be strategic and forward-thinking and have a demonstrated history of progressive leadership with a keen eye for team development. Additionally, the candidate must be engaging and enthusiastic, with the ability to promote the long-term vision to internal staff and external recruits.

  • The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in nursing (MSN preferred.)
  • Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in OK.
  • Ten years as a nurse leader and five years in management.
  • Certified in PALS, BLS, and ACLS.
