Clearway Pain Solutions is Hiring an ASC Nurse Administrator Near Windsor, MD

The ASC Nurse Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the assigned center. This includes planning, organizing, and directing overall operations for the center according to its policies, procedures, goals, and objectives. In addition, this role promotes a favorable image of the center to physicians, staff, patients, insurance companies, and the general public.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees daily operations of the center to ensure patient safety and highest quality of care is provided
  • Acts in accordance with the vision, mission, and business philosophy of the Company
  • Oversees clinical and administrative operations for the assigned center, with a focus on quality improvement, patient care and overall safety
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting body, as well as with Company policies and procedures
  • Monitors and reports on overall patient engagement and experience and ensures action plans are implemented appropriately
  • Works closely with senior management to ensure appropriate management of the assigned center, including but not limited to managing the implementation of contracts for services and equipment in a cost-effective manner
  • Collaborates with center personnel to implement risk management and infection control policies and procedures, as appropriate
  • Reviews financial and productivity management reports and takes appropriate actions
  • Appropriately reviews patient assessment, treatment, and/or care methods performed by nursing staff to accommodate the needs of each patient served
  • Serves as an advocate for patients/families, assuring that patient/family rights are respected, patient satisfaction issues are addressed, and associates adhere to the values of the Company
  • Participates in the development, communication, and implementation of nursing and organizational policy and procedures
  • Participates on intra and interdepartmental committees and task forces which are focused on improving patient care, as assigned
  • Collaborates with other management staff and leadership to resolve center/staff issues
  • Participates and directs staff regarding emergency and disaster plans
  • Assists in the development and communicates appropriate standards, protocols, policies and procedures to meet trends in nursing practice, patient services and other Company objectives
  • Collaborates with Human Resources to recruit and hire qualified staff
  • Provides HR with necessary information to maintain staff files (i.e.: current licensure, credentialing records, certifications, orientation documentation, skills checklists, and continuing education requirements)
  • Resolves conflicts involving staff, physicians, patients/families, interdepartmental and intra departmental issues
  • Empowers staff through effective delegation, while maintaining a culture of accountability
  • Conducts regularly scheduled staff meetings which address issues, process improvement, safety, and other relevant topics; ensuring staff meeting minutes are maintained and available
  • Establishes and enforces ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the unit supplies and equipment
  • Maintains and ensures documentation of quality control aspects of the clinic(s) (e.g. POCT logs, refrigerator temps, etc. which are required by Joint Commission)
  • Collaborates effectively with physicians, administrators, patients, families, other departments, and the community to provide quality patient care and enhance patient outcomes
  • Maintains core staffing within established guidelines that ensure patient safety, while considering skill mix and experience of staff
  • Ensures assessment of competency of all assigned staff as a part of the orientation program and on an ongoing basis
  • Identifies, plans, develops and/or arranges for programs to meet the educational/skills needs of the staff upon hiring and on an ongoing basis
  • Responsible for reporting on Quality Improvement, Risk Management, and Infection Control programs/plans, and delegates appropriate tasks to applicable staff
  • Manages the collections of accounts receivable for the center
  • Assists in the development of and monitors guidelines and standards to assure compliance with state requirements, Medicare approval and federal regulations (OSHA, CLIA, etc)
  • Identifies, plans, develops methods to meet the educational needs of the patient population
  • Oversees and reviews all center purchases; maintains appropriate inventory levels
  • Performs the duties and responsibilities of other center staff (i.e.: Nurses, Front Desk, Techs, etc.) as needed.
  • Checks work e-mail on a regular basis throughout the workday
  • Participates in and complete all required trainings and in-services
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least one (1) year in a nurse management role; OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
  • Must possess and maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state in which services are performed (compact license is acceptable).
  • Must possess a current ACLS and BLS certification.
  • Must possess and maintain Infection Control Training as an Infection Preventionist.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, including exceptional customer service.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, clinical staff, other co-workers and the public.
  • Must be able to work individually as well as within a team.
  • Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Must be able to respond with patience and understanding during stressful conditions related to patient health and emergent situations.
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Must be able to problem solve and use reasoning.
  • Must maintain and project a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the healthcare field and medical specialty, as well as medical terminology.
  • Must demonstrate extreme attention to detail.
  • Must possess strong organization skills.
  • Must be able to meet predefined quality standards.
  • Must provide proof of influenza vaccination annually.
  • Must complete two (2)-step PPD.
  • Must complete all regulatory competencies prior to beginning work in the ASC.
  • Must be able to effectively oversee, manage and direct a team of nursing professionals.
  • All staff are expected to have a strong desire to provide excellent customer service; to comply with the rules and regulations of those organizations to which we are accountable; to have high ethical and professional standards of conduct; and to have an attitude of wanting to continuously improve their own professional performance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One (1) year of prior experience working in a Pain Management practice.
  • One (1) year of prior experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

Driving/Travel:

The employee must have reliable transportation. Travel for this position will be required up to 50%. While the primary workplace may be closest to the employee’s home, work assignments could be in any of the Company’s locations.
