SummaryReporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maintenance activities at Energy Center Omaha district energy plants.Ensures safe, reliable, and efficient maintenance of plant equipment on a 24/7 basis when required.Manages a combination of Technicians, Leads, and Contractors. This position will be based in our Main Plant.Principle Responsibilities/Key Results Areas·Leads the day-to-day performance and coordination of plant maintenance activities; directly supervises maintenance staff and oversees maintenance work order prioritization, planning, and scheduling functions; develops appropriate shifts, schedules, and staffing to control costs and maintain plant reliability.·Provides leadership to maintenance staff; promotes strong safety culture and achieves effective and cost-conscious maintenance of thermal plants.·Serves as a member of plant leadership team and is capable of assisting other department managers (Operations, I&C, and Distribution).·Oversees the selection and use of contractors and vendors to perform plant work in accordance with company policy.·Promotes productivity and teamwork between Maintenance, I&C, Engineering, Distribution, and Operations through open communication, timely decision making and high standards.·Responsible for ensuring required labor, supplies, materials, parts, and special tools and/or equipment required to perform plant maintenance are coordinated appropriately.·Requires interpretation/review of technical manuals, sketches, prints, instructions, manufacturer’s data and plant equipment maintenance history; ensures best maintenance practices are incorporated into all maintenance activities.·Provides regular feedback to employees on their performance to allow them to capitalize on their strengths and focus on opportunities for improvement.·Ensures development and implementation of assigned department goals, objectives, and initiatives.·Supports and emphasizes importance of safety and environmental programs and ensures regulatory compliance.·Troubleshoots plant operational issues by working with all levels of personnel including operators, mechanics, managers, engineers, etc; devises new and innovative approaches to solve problems.·Develops written corrective and preventative work orders and schedules for the plant in accordance with plant operational priorities; may involve supervision of maintenance planners.·Responsible for managing plant projects in excess of $1M – determines priority, cost, manpower and time estimates; ensures compliance with applicable engineering guidelines and specifications, industry codes and standards, and regulatory requirements.·Establishes and validates estimates for recurring maintenance work using past history, supervisory and craftsman knowledge.Confers with representatives of equipment manufacturers on matters concerning the servicing, assembly, or maintenance of equipment.·Accumulates and analyzes data on actual versus estimated time, equipment, and manpower requirements.·Recommends improved practices, methods, and procedures to increase efficiency, quality, and reduce equipment downtime.·Determines priority, cost, manpower and time estimates, re-evaluating estimates to reflect changing job requirements and preparing job sequence requirements for major plant projects and for specific maintenance work.·Responsible for field coordination between contractors, consultants, and material suppliers on assigned projects.·Leads resolution of urgent plant issues; this may at times involve working extended hours and night shift hours and/or weekends.·Responsible for the implementation of work management policies and procedures; responsible for coordinating/assembling plant maintenance work week schedules for Main plant and California St plant ·Responsible for coordinating maintenance planning activities and reviewing work orders with the appropriate supervisors and other elements to assure mutual agreement and understanding; arranges for critical equipment isolation with operations to coordinate plant maintenance planning activities.·Ensures identification and implementation of improved maintenance practices, methods, and procedures to increase efficiency, quality, and reduce equipment downtime, strong advocate for continuous improvement. ·Collateral duties and special projects as assigned.·Communicates and leads in accordance with company vision and core values.·Supports station safety, maintenance performance, root cause analysis, condition-based monitoring, proactive maintenance initiatives.·Occasional support of emergent/urgent plant issues; this may at times involve working night shift hours and/or weekends.·Maintains historical database/reduction of maintenance backlog and equipment history in SAP.·Communicates with vendors and clients to request/receive information and to expedite the approval of documents and the delivery of materials.·Completes necessary tasks to establish and maintain appropriate inventory;
