Job Summary

The Internal Consultant (CMS) will play an important role in supporting our construction and infrastructure projects within the water, wastewater, and public works sectors. This position will involve providing expert consultation, technical guidance, and project management support to ensure the successful execution of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of construction processes, industry regulations, and a passion for contributing to the betterment of communities through sustainable infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Consultation and Technical Expertise: Provide expert advice and guidance to project teams on construction methods, materials, and best practices within the water, wastewater, and public works industry.

• Project Management Support: Collaborate with project managers and teams to plan, coordinate, and oversee construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

• Quality Control and Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure compliance with industry standards, specifications, and safety regulations.

• Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and detailed construction cost estimates, taking into account materials, labor, and equipment requirements.

• Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks associated with construction projects and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring project success and safety.

• Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal regulations in the water, wastewater, and public works sectors, ensuring projects adhere to all relevant codes and permits.

• Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the team to identify areas for process improvement and cost-saving opportunities, sharing your insights and expertise.

• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project records, produce reports, and communicate project status to senior management and stakeholders.

• Safety and Environmental Stewardship: Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the construction teams, advocating for sustainable and eco-friendly construction practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction consulting, project management, or related roles in the water, wastewater, and public works industry.

• Proficiency in construction software and tools, including project management software and computer-aided design (CAD) programs.

• Strong understanding of construction regulations, safety standards, and environmental considerations.

• Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.

• Professional certifications (e.g., Professional Engineer, Certified Construction Manager) are a plus.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.

• State-certified building & underground license
