What opportunity is available?
Clearview’s Assurance & Advisory Practice is looking to hire a Senior Auditor/Manager whose primary role would be in our Employee Benefit Plan practice. This person will report directly to the Employee Benefit Plan Practice Lead. Our firm is headquartered in Owings Mills, Maryland and while this new hire may often work remotely, it's preferrable for them to be within driving distance of the office and travel to client/prospect meetings, conferences, etc., as dictated by business need.

What will this new hire do?
Under the general direction of the Employee Benefit Plan Practice Lead, the Senior Auditor leads and/or participates in the completion of audit & consulting engagements. In this role, day-to-day tasks may include performing audit procedures, preparing financial statements and management letters, researching technical accounting matters, preparing technical accounting memoranda and staying abreast of regulatory changes in order to provide meaningful insights regarding the impact to our clients' plans. Specific responsibilities entail:

  • Leading the execution of day-to-day activities of audit engagements, including managing staff, completing reviews to ensure high quality as well as adherence to both professional and regulatory standards, ensure on time delivery and high client satisfaction
  • Demonstrated knowledge of audits of all types of retirement plans including, 401(k), 403(b), Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit
  • Documenting a comprehensive understanding of clients’ operational processes and plan provisions
  • Experience preparing Form 5500 is considered a plus
  • Coaching, guiding, and providing feedback to Staff Associates and/or Interns
  • Fostering a team environment and working to maintain a positive culture
  • Interacting with clients’ key management to gather information, and resolve audit-related problems,
  • Proactively communicating with the audit team on various aspects of engagements
  • Participating in practice development opportunities, including meeting with potential clients as well as preparing presentations and proposals
  • Providing exceptional service to clients remotely and in-person, always acting as a positive brand ambassador for Clearview
What is required for consideration?
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 3 (three) years of recent accounting and/or external audit experience in a public accounting firm(s)
  • Minimum 1 (one) year experience mentoring associates, leading teams and/or directly supervising employees while simultaneously managing multiple engagements
  • Desire and willingness to become a CPA within an agreed upon time frame to include meeting the minimum educational requirements for CPA licensure
  • Unwavering integrity and ethics
  • Experience interacting with clients, establishing credibility, trust and healthy relationships
  • Demonstrable examples of project management, innovative thinking, and problem solving

What is preferred for consideration?

  • CPA
  • MBA or Master’s degree in Accounting
  • Established professional network
