Position: Driver Education Instructor

Facility: Clearfield Job Corps Center

Location: 20 W 1700 S, Clearfield, UT 84016

Rate of pay: $41,600 annually

Position summary: The driver education instructor is responsible for monitoring and directing students in the driver’s education program.

Essential responsibilities:

• Provide instruction and direction to students in the driver’s education program to prepare them for written exams and driving lessons and assessments.
• Process and categorize students’ driver’s education applications.
• Evaluate student’s performance and determine their readiness to complete the final written exam and driving test.
• Support career development services system by helping students acquire a new skill which will assist them in becoming more employable.
• Maintain accountability of students and property to maintain a safe and clean work environment and adhere to safety practices.

Education and experience requirements:

• A bachelors degree is required.
• Must have a valid Utah teaching certification with an endorsement in driver education instruction or complete an approved instructor preparation course and pass the exam within 90 days after hire at an authorized testing location.
• Previous experience working with youth (paid or volunteer) is needed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
• Computer proficiency is a must.
• A valid Utah driver license with an acceptable driving record is required.
