Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will provide counseling and support to individuals struggling with substance abuse issues. Your role will involve conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and facilitating individual and group counseling sessions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in addiction counseling and be knowledgeable about medical documentation and terminology. Duties: - Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the severity of substance abuse issues - Develop personalized treatment plans based on individual needs and goals - Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address underlying issues related to addiction - Utilize evidence-based interventions such as psychotherapy and behavioral health techniques - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care for patients - Assist patients in developing coping strategies and relapse prevention techniques - Provide education and support to families of individuals struggling with substance abuse - Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation using ICD-10 codes Experience: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field - Certification or licensure as a Substance Abuse Counselor preferred - Proven experience in providing individual and group counseling for substance abuse - Familiarity with medical terminology related to addiction treatment - Knowledge of evidence-based practices for addiction counseling - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to provide compassionate care while maintaining professional boundaries We offer competitive compensation and benefits packages, including healthcare coverage, retirement plans, and opportunities for professional development.
