Purpose – The primary purpose of this job is to provide a full range of productivity services to Operations and support cost reduction programs for the facility through lean events, measuring facility systems and delivering continuous improvement training programs.
Principal Required Responsibilities:
Responsible for training Management and Team Members on all 5S/Continuous Improvement policies and methods.
Coordinate 5S initiatives plant wide with support from Corporate Engineering team.
Conduct 5S/Continuous Improvement Monthly Audits and assist in development of procedures and corrective actions.
Coordinate production improvement efforts at facility and analyze gaps for recommendations to leadership
Collects, manages and evaluates process data for improvement initiatives pertaining to yield and downtime.
Develop and maintain performance (KPI) visuals communication boards and tracking systems
Developing weekly/daily executive KPI reports.
Facilitate daily plant meetings and help summarize information from all departments
Effectively present training materials to large groups of employees.
Assist in driving lean principles such as: Waste Elimination, Pull Systems, Kanban, Visual Standards, Flow Production, Set-Up Reduction, Standardized Work, Variation Reduction, Error Proofing, Total Productive Maintenance, Ergonomics, Problem Solving
Periodically works independently to solve minor process problems without management direction.
Assisting in the creation and sustainment of a World-Class Safety culture.
Support Corporate Engineers on special projects such as productivity improvements, defect reduction, capacity improvements, changeover reduction, and area layouts.
Periodic training and benchmarking trips to affiliated companies.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications and Knowledge
High School Diploma required.
3-5 years of experience in a production environment.
Must be computer literate, organized and capable of learning/demonstrating correct use of all Microsoft computer software. (E.g. MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Outlook, etc.)
Ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and be highly motivated towards understanding production processes.
Must be flexible and able to multi-task between multiple projects as priorities change.
Self-directed with good organizational and time management skills.
Additional Qualifications and Knowledge
Excellent analytical, reasoning skills and math skills.
Must be able to communicate effectively and work closely with multiple individuals across different positions and skill levels.
Prefer candidates that have a good understanding of lean manufacturing and can apply these concepts to all applications including production, warehouse, and the supply chain.
Able to influence management on proposed improvement initiatives.
Experience with Six Sigma is a plus.
Willingness to travel up to 25% and work off shifts when necessary.
