Project Manager-Industrial Construction-Insulation Division

Classic Industrial Services (www.classicindustrial.com) is dedicated to providing high-quality industrial construction services. We have been in business for over 35 years and our current area of focus includes industrial insulation, scaffolding, siding, heat trace, and refractory.

Primary Objectives for the Project Manager-Industrial Construction:

We are seeking a Project Manager-Insulation Division to join our national construction company. This position will have a dual reporting relationship to the Branch Manager of Eastern Iowa. The Project Manager is primarily responsible for the profitability of one or more construction projects at any given time and is responsible for estimating, securing, managing (financials & leading people) and closing out pipe/equipment insulation projects. Travel to sites will be required (mostly within a 4 hour radius of the office); occasional overnights.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in leading job site teams to successful project outcomes. This position will be based at our West Burlington IA location and be frequently present on project sites. This position is bonus eligible.

Key Responsibilities of the Project Manager-Industrial Construction:

· Evolve a regional business based in Omaha NE; build relationships, and provide outstanding customer service.

· Estimate & win accounts for Classic Industrial which fit into the strategic vision for the company.

· Build a high-performance team to execute the work; build your team with people of great character who align with our values and culture; foster a culture of development on your projects; grow and develop your eventual successor.

· Be responsible for the financial performance of the Insulation Division.

· Keep a diverse business to protect against recessions.

· Be a solution provider; take ownership of your division.

· Participate in the monthly WIP conversations and know the performance of your jobs and projections.

· Help maintain a high safety oriented culture.

· Keep the leadership team informed of the projects’ operations. No surprises. Encourage great communication up and down.

Qualifications we are seeking for the Project Manager-Industrial Construction position:

· A minimum of 5 years' leadership role experience in industrial mechanical insulation or in industrial mechanical/plumbing/HVAC or other industrial Project Management background required; a degree in Construction Management preferred.

· Leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to drive safety initiatives and foster a culture of safety.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a capability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, from employees to senior executives.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook); FastEst, Comput-Ability MIKE, or Trimble helpful.

· Excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.

· You must also have the ability to think and plan strategically; be willing to tackle complex and sensitive issues; be a flexible, continuous learner; and inspire and influence others in order to achieve goals.

· Be a Change Leader by instituting new systems and processes and hold others accountable.

  • Primarily a stationary position for a considerable portion of the day (sitting and/or standing). The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Must be able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
  • Must have the ability to move about safely on construction sites, climb ladders, etc. as necessary.
  • The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in plant, yard, or construction areas, including:

· Hard Hat

· Safety Glasses / Goggles

· Steel-toed Boots

· High Visibility Vest

· Hearing Protection (designated areas)

· Gloves
