PURPOSE OF JOB:
Class Valuation is looking for a talented and experienced IT System Engineer to join our rapidly expanding company located in Troy, MI. This role is perfect for a highly experienced and proactive IT individual. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining our organization's IT infrastructure. The role requires a deep understanding of networking, software, hardware, and security systems. The Systems Engineer will work with internal and external teams and resources to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our IT environment and provide support for users and systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Tasks:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure IT systems and network architectures.
- Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking equipment.
- Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to meet organizational needs.
- Perform system administration tasks, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization of servers and infrastructure components.
- Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard the organization's data and systems.
- Implement monitoring tools to track system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
- Conduct regular performance tuning to optimize system efficiency.
- Manage Azure resources, including virtual machines, storage, and networking components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address IT needs.
- Manage and maintain relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Provide training and guidance to end-users on IT best practices.
- Flexibility for occasional nights, weekends, and on-call support.
- Lead and execute the migration of data, users, and systems for mergers and acquisitions.
- Lead or participate in IT projects to deploy new technologies and solutions.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficient understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems.
- Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize.
- Experience & solid understanding of cloud architecture, platforms, and tools.
- Hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls, switches, networking hardware and software.
- Proficiency in networking protocols, subnetting, IP addressing, and routing.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication skills with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed for projects and business requirements.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
