Description

Under the general direction of the Director of Operations, the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor organizes, monitors and supervises facility maintenance operations for Clark's Market designated locations. This position performs a variety of technical tasks relative to facility maintenance; provides technical assistance to organizational leadership and monitors contracted maintenance as appropriate. Considerable travel by vehicle is required and the position is based on the Colorado Western Slope.

Supervisory Duties:

  • Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and participate in the work of staff responsible for multi-facility maintenance
  • Establish schedules and methods for providing facility maintenance services; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management of resources; allocate resources accordingly.
  • Participate in the development of goals and objectives as well as policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards, policies, and procedures; participate in the implementation of approved policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the preparation and administration of the facility maintenance budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures; prepare cost estimates; submit justifications for equipment; monitor budget expenditures.
  • Monitor and control supplies and equipment; order supplies and tools as necessary; prepare documents for equipment procurement; prepare specifications and contracts for contract services.
  • Train or coordinate training in facility maintenance and safety methods, procedures, and techniques.
  • Develop and organize preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs for all facilities and equipment.
  • Coordinate construction projects, remodels, and other special projects as appropriate/needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of various contracts, requests for proposals, and reports.
  • Performing the more technical and complex tasks of the work unit
  • Attend and participate in professional group meetings; maintain awareness of new trends and developments in the field of facility maintenance; incorporate new developments as appropriate into programs.
  • Coordinate with contractors in providing contract services
  • Perform related duties as required.

Refrigeration:

  • Installation, troubleshooting and overhauling store refrigeration systems
  • Measuring refrigeration components for installation.
  • Working with hand and power tools to install refrigeration components
  • Measuring and cutting piping, and connecting piping using welding equipment
  • Testing refrigeration systems for leaks
  • Performing routine maintenance
  • Repairing and replacing components for refrigeration systems

General Maintenance:

  • Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
  • Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs
  • Plans repair work using blueprints and equipment manual as needed
  • Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
  • Performs routine maintenance on building systems
  • Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities
  • Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance
  • Performance other related duties as assigned

Qualifications


Knowledge of:

  • Operations, services and activities of a building maintenance, repair and construction program
  • Materials, methods, terminology, equipment and tools used in the maintenance, repair, and construction of building structures and systems including those used in performing rough and finished carpentry, plumbing, heating, electrical, mechanical, and painting work
  • Principals of supervision, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Basic principles and practices of budget preparation and administration
  • Equipment, tools and materials used in facility maintenance activities
  • Construction and project management principles.
  • Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications.
  • Pertinent local, state and federal laws, ordinances, codes and rules

Ability to:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Posses strong working knowledge of subject matter
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Education/Experience:

  • 7 years of relevant experience
  • Valid CO Driver’s License
  • HVAC Certification preferred

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

  • Environment: Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor field environment; travel from site to site; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, and all types of weather and temperature conditions.
  • Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp and make repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; to climb unusual heights on ladders, to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight; to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
