Clarke of Roselle, IL is seeking to hire a Summer Yard and Fleet Technician that will be responsible for assisting our team of mechanics who are servicing the fleet and small equipment used in the field.

This position is perfect for someone who is passionate about learning more about the field of mechanics, enjoys being part of a busy mechanic shop, and is interested in public health and sustainability, and enjoys working outdoors.

WORK SCHEDULE AND SALARY

This position earns a competitive wage of $16 / hr. and generally works 8AM-5PM or 9AM-6PM shift Monday-Friday (end times may vary based on business needs).

The Yard and Fleet Technician works on average a 40 hour work week and supports the summer seasonal operation (generally April-September).

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A YARD AND FLEET TECHNICIAN

As a Yard and Fleet Technician, you will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of Company trucks / vehicles and other small equipment (i.

e. ULV sprayers, ATV's, motor boats). You love your daytime job as you get to be out of an office ensuring vehicles and equipment are performing optimally.

You have excellent attention to detail and safety as you measure and dispense product, document inventory, and operate Company equipment.

Lastly, you maintain the facility and yard by cleaning, sweeping, taking out the recycling, and performing other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A YARD AND FLEET TECHNICIAN

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal forms
  • Have a valid Driver's License with an excellent driving record
  • Be able to sit and drive a vehicle for extensive amounts of time
  • Be mechanically inclined and able to lift approximately 75 pounds
  • Required to pass the Illinois Department of Agriculture General Standards Exam (training provided)
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and / or weekends
  • Cross training and working on other crews will be required
  • Capable of using handheld electronic devices
  • Candidate must be comfortable performing assigned duties outdoors while walking through various and challenging terrain, including but not limited to water, heavy vegetation and uneven land, throughout residential communities, urban environments and forested areas where environmental conditions are affected by weather
