We are looking for a very experienced Roadway Design Engineer or a newly licensed Project Engineer in the Civil Engineering Transportation industry.

The primary focus of this position is project work, working on multiple tasks simultaneously and with a great degree of independence and proficiency. The Design Engineer II may also provide direction, guidance, and review of work performed by Design Engineer I, Technicians, and Interns.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Lead project teams to successful completion of project deliverables

•Manage quality, budget, and schedule of responsible projects

•Communicate (verbal and written) effectively with technical staff, clients and sub-consultants

•Coordinate and support construction activities

•Prepare planning studies, designs, project plans, cost estimates, quantities, specifications, and reports with varying level of complexity

•Review work products for accuracy and completeness

•Coordinate and support construction activities

•Achieve financial success and utilization targets

•Mentor and manage internal design team members

•Engage with project proposals & participate in client interviews

•Participate and network within the professional engineering community

QUALIFICATIONS:

•8 - 10 years progressive experience & responsibilities in design, delivery, and coordination of bridge Engineering design projects

•BS civil/structural Engineering (MS a Plus)

•Registered Professional Engineer in the State of California preferred

•Engineer in Training required

•Knowledge & proficiency in structural bridge computer programs such as VBridge, VBent, XTRACT, CAPP, Seisab. Proficient in MS PowerPoint and MS Project

•Knowledge of & experience with Caltrans standards & details

•Knowledge of project deliverable processes for public sector

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•Demonstrated understanding of project financials and metrics

•Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment
