Clark County Therapeutic Education Center is Hiring an Occupational Therapist - 2024-25 Therapeutic Ed Center Near Vancouver, WA

We are recruiting for an Occupational Therapist to serve the Clark County Therapeutic Education Center (CTEC), a new program that is being created to serve aggressive adolescent aged youth with significant developmental delays. CTEC will provide instructional behavioral, and social/emotional support and activities to the youth served. This position is .513 FTE (95 days/year).General ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Director, the Occupational Therapist develops, implements and coordinates an occupational therapy program for children with a range of mild to severe disabilities. The Occupational Therapist serves as a member of the education team assigned to support special education children. The Occupational Therapist serves as liaison with medical and community service providers on behalf of children with disabilities and their families.Salary:The full salary range for this position is $27,943.62 - $52,670.23. Salary placement is based on education and certificated experience. Essential Functions:
  1. Provide education and support to teachers, classroom staff, parents and other care givers about occupational therapy services.
  2. Develop, implement and coordinate an occupational therapy program for children with disabilities consistent with the Individual Education Plan (IEP)/Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) goals.
  3. Conduct occupational therapy assessments. Review assessment finds with parents and the education team.
  4. Provide direct service to children.
  5. Monitor ongoing treatment records. Evaluate and report on children's progress.
  6. Advise, instruct and assist education staff to implement occupational therapy plans.
  7. Supervise, train and evaluate certified occupational therapy assistants and paraeducators.
  8. Facilitate the procurement, fabrication, modification and adjustment of adaptive equipment/assistive technology for occupational therapy services.
  9. Serve as a member of the education team to help address the needs of children.
Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & SkillsMinimum Qualifications:
  1. Hold or eligible to hold a Washington ESA occupational therapist certificate.
  2. Hold or eligible to hold a Washington occupational therapist license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience working in a special education public school setting or with pediatric populations.
  2. Experience interpreting state and federal special education law.
Working Conditions/Employment RequirementsWorking Conditions:
  1. Travel within the Special Education ESA service area.
  2. Physical ability to transfer and/or lift children and equipment.
  3. Services provided in homes, child care, preschool and classroom settings.
Employment Requirements:
  1. Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
