Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center is Hiring a Laundry Worker Near Owen, WI

Purpose of Position:

The Laundry Worker/Linen and Clothing Clerk is responsible for the care of resident clothing on assigned units

and operates laundry equipment under the supervision of the lead laundry worker.

Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions:

A high school diploma or its equivalent and one-year prior experience working in a similar position is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following is a list of responsibilities expected of staff in this position; this information may be updated and

modified as needed due to program modifications, technology changes, or regulatory compliance.

 Complete work in compliance with State and Federal Regulations, including MSDS sheets and

according to laundry policies and procedures

 Collect soiled linens and clothing from units on a daily basis

 Sort laundry

 Launder (wash, dry and fold) all linens and clothing according to policy

 Disinfect articles of clothing as needed

 Label resident clothing ensuring all items are properly marked

 Use proper body mechanics and other safety precautions to prevent injuries

 Ensure all items are free of stains, tears, loose buttons, broken zippers, etc.

 Sort, organize, fold, transport and distribute resident clothes to the units and to individual rooms/closets

 Interact appropriately with people who have physical, emotional and social disabilities

 Demonstrate an acceptance and concern for residents and respect all resident rights

 Maintain standards of complete confidentiality and resident dignity at all times.

 Maintain an appropriate working relationship with Supervisor

 Present a neat, well groomed, professional appearance

 Participate in Quality Assurance

 Communicate effectively with co-workers and inter department staff

 Illustrate a willingness to take on new tasks

 Attend appropriate in-service education

 Make responsible decisions exercising good judgment

 Monitor work area for fire and safety hazards; participate in fire and disaster drills
