Join us at Clarivate and help us revolutionize research and learning tools. We are seeking a User Experience Design Intern to join our Clarivate ProQuest Ebook Central Team. This role will provide you with exposure to a product development team where you will gain experience with UX research including usability testing, surveying, and synthesizing data, performing product assessments, analyzing competitive landscape, contributing to accessibility audits, and participating in observation and note-taking. Additionally, there is opportunity to assist in UX design efforts across other platforms. Overall, you will assist the team in determining the design of intuitive interfaces and delivering a high-quality product for the end user. About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at an accredited school and have completed 24 semester hours (or equivalent) prior to the start of the internship. Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75. Exposure to user centered design, user analysis techniques, and web and mobile usability best practices. Familiarity with Mural, Figma and/or Axure. It would be great if you also have . . . Basic understanding of capabilities and limitations of web technologies (HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, etc.). Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. Familiarity with usability analysis and testing methods. Familiarity with applying analytics and usage data as part of user research. What will you be doing in this role? Work under the direction of a Lead or Senior UX Designer to deliver artifacts and complete tasks to assist the team in delivering successful outcomes for customers and users. Apply user centered design methodology to develop an understanding of and serve as the advocate for the end user (Examples: perform user research, create personas, user task analysis, process diagrams, use cases etc.). Consult with software and content developers to understand and accommodate technical constraints and reflect appropriate content format and functionality in the designs. As needed, develop wireframes, sitemaps and other design renderings which define the user interface form, function, navigation, interaction, and basic screen layout. As needed, write brief functional requirements documents, annotated wireframes and/or user stories to convey design elements and interactions to the product development team. Work closely with the team implementing the designs to ensure business and user requirements have been met. Perform accessibility audits and ensures designs meet accessibility standards per ADA Section 508 requirements and W3C WAI guidelines. Actively participate in regular design reviews and provide and receive constructive feedback. We collaborate across multiple countries and have a strong team culture of shared growth and learning. Hours of Work Core working hours are Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 5:00pm. Internship requirements are 180 hours from June - August.
