Job Summary:
The Technology School Site Assistant at Claremore Public Schools will play a crucial role in supporting integrating and maintaining technology resources within the school environment. This position will provide technical assistance to students, teachers, and staff, ensuring that technology functions effectively and enhances the educational experience. Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
Provide technical assistance to students, teachers, and staff regarding hardware and software issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to computers, laptops, and other technology equipment.
Assist in setting up and maintaining audio-visual equipment for classrooms and school events.
Software Management:
Install, update, and maintain software applications on school computers and devices.
Ensure that software licenses are up-to-date and in compliance with licensing agreements.
Assist in managing user accounts and access permissions for various software platforms.
Hardware Maintenance:
Conduct routine maintenance of computers and other hardware.
Perform minor hardware repairs and coordinate with external vendors for major repairs or replacements.
Maintain an inventory of technology equipment and supplies.
Network Support:
Assist in maintaining the school's network infrastructure, if needed.
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and assist with network configuration.
Monitor network security and report any potential vulnerabilities.
Training and Workshops:
Provide training and workshops to staff and students on technology-related topics and software applications.
Create user guides and documentation to help users navigate technology resources effectively.
Digital Security:
Promote and enforce digital security practices within the school community.
Assist in implementing and maintaining security measures to protect sensitive data.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with teachers and administrators to integrate technology into the curriculum and classroom activities.
Stay updated on emerging educational technologies and make recommendations for their adoption.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred).
Previous experience in a technology support role is desirable.
Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of educational technology trends and tools.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and other common software applications.
