Job Summary:
Claremont Custom Framing is a boutique frame shop in Berkeley, CA specializing in custom, archival quality framing. We are seeking someone with a strong design sense and who has excellent customer service skills. As an Art Framer, you will be responsible for framing artwork and ensuring the highest quality craftsmanship. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail and a strong understanding of framing techniques.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with clients to create exceptional framing designs

- Explain the benefits of archival framing and help clients select the best options

- Measure and cut materials to create custom frames for artwork
- Assemble frames using hand tools and specialized equipment
- Mount artwork securely within frames
- Apply appropriate matting and glass to protect artwork
- Collaborate with clients to determine framing preferences and provide recommendations

Experience:
- Previous experience in art framing or a related field preferred
- Knowledge of various framing techniques and materials
- Proficiency in using hand tools and specialized framing equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
