Roles and Responsibilities
Serve the Customer:
o Model the GUEST customer engagement philosophy to ensure consistent and positive customer experiences. Train store team to effectively execute our GUEST program to deliver a great customer experience.
o Know our Customer – know what’s important to her, what she’s ‘into’ now, and how can we best meet her desire to stay trendy and hip. Keep apprised of fashion trends.
o Perform and train associates to perform ear piercing procedures that are in compliance with Company and legal guidelines. Enforce proper ear piercing procedures among store associates.
Drive Sales:
o Assist to achieve store’s sales plan and performance targets (e.g. Conversion, Transactions, Average Dollar Sale (ADS), Units per Transaction (UPTs), Sales per Labor Hour (SPLH), % Penetration (% Accessories, % Jewelry, % EP), to maximize business results.
o Raise awareness of department-level sales performance, key Item sales performance, and bestsellers to maximize business.
o Ensure that every aspect of the Company’s in-store presentation and promotional messaging standards are met.
o Implement all Planograms in a timely manner incorporating appropriate product flows and adjacencies given store specific attributes and physical layout.
Demonstrate Leadership:
o Represent the Claire’s / Icing brand through professional behavior, fashion awareness and positive Customer engagement. Promote a professional and brand-appropriate image.
o Assist the Store Manager in creating a positive work environment through effective communication, motivation, and recognition.
o Assist to motivate the team to win by encouraging friendly competition and store contests.
o Hold self and team accountable for weekly and monthly sales plans by using daily targets. Train and coach store associates to meet performance targets.
o While manager on duty, effectively handle critical situations that occur within the store.
o Organize, delegate, set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow-up.
Develop People:
o Assists in recruiting and hiring qualified store associates.
o Continually train and coach staff, providing appropriate feedback in a timely manner.
o Identify and develop store associates for future growth.
Manage the Business:
o Complete operational activities in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
o Assist in the management of controllable expenses (e.g. payroll, supplies, and fixtures).
o Assist in the management of store inventory effectively (e.g. shipment processing, markdowns, store recovery, stock replenishment, and back room organization).
o Assist in the implementation of Loss Prevention practices and reinforce Company Loss Prevention standards to store associates.
o Serves as acting Store Manager when Store Manager is not present.

Reporting Structure
o Reports to the Store Manager
o Provides management and oversight to 3rd Key Holders and Sales Associates
Qualifications
o High school diploma or equivalent required
o Minimum one year retail management experience
o Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills
o Basic computer skills
o Sound understanding of mathematics and strong reading comprehension skills
o Understands the importance of Customer Service
o Ability to analyze sales reports and strategically problem solve
o Ability to stand during scheduled shifts
o Ability to maneuver up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally
o Bending, stooping, extended reaching, climbing ladders and step stools while placing merchandise throughout the store and assisting customers
o Ability to operate POS system
Note: Regular attendance is a necessary function of this position.
