Homeless Shelter Site-Monitor (Day Shift / Overnight Shift)
Homeless Action Sonoma, Inc., is seeking a dedicated and passionate Site-Monitor for our overnight position that will contribute to the effective functioning of our facilities and supports our mission-driven initiatives. This role involves a hands-on approach to facility maintenance, event setup, event cleanup, and to ensure a visually welcoming environment for residents, staff, volunteers, and visitors.
Job Description:
Facility Maintenance
Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and promptly address issues. Coordinate with Director of Operations for repairs and maintenance services. Ensure all areas of facility are kept clean and tidy, free of injury causing obstacles.
Event Setup and Support
Assist in the setup and breakdown of events, ensuring that venues are prepared according to established plans. Collaborate with event coordinators to address on-site needs during activities and programs.
Security and Safety
Monitor and maintain a safe and secure environment for all on-site activities day or night. Implement safety protocols and emergency procedures, conducting regular patrols.
Resource Management
Manage and organize on-site resources, including equipment, supplies, and inventory. Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure the availability of necessary materials for daily operations.
Collaboration with Staff and Volunteers
Work with Operations Manager and Case Workers to support their on-site needs. Provide guidance and assistance to ensure a positive and productive working environment.
Communication
Serve as a point of contact for on-site matters, communicating effectively with management and residents. Report any facility-related issues to the Director of Operations. Write site reports each shift.
Flexibility and Adaptability
Respond to unforeseen challenges and adapt quickly to changing on-site requirements. Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate the dynamic nature of nonprofit activities.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in facility management or related non-profit field, but not required.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance tasks and repair procedures.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Commitment to the mission and values of the nonprofit.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
