Clad Consulting, Inc. is Hiring a Senior Public Works Construction / Project Manager Near Arroyo Grande, CA

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Works Senior Construction / Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in civil engineering, project management, and/or construction management working on public sector projects along with excellent leadership skills. This is a full-time hybrid position with a mix of onsite, remote, and office work – there is flexibility to better meet the candidate’s needs! Position Summary: The Public Works Senior Construction / Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of construction management and inspection services for various clients including the planning, design, pre-construction, construction, closeout, and maintenance phases. This role will also provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers while ensuring the successful completion of projects within budget and on schedule. Your duties will include:

  • Serve as a senior project manager, program manager, or client manager for various projects and clients.
  • Lead and manage throughout all phases of construction and project management projects while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Perform various pre-construction tasks including but not limited to reviewing project plans/contract documents, reviewing insurance/bonding requirements while ensuring compliance, walking project sites and documenting site conditions, verifying coordination of necessary crews, meeting with staff as applicable, and evaluating potential environmental impacts and mitigation measures.
  • Perform various tasks during the construction phase of a project including inspecting/performing construction management services to ensure the project is built as designed, logging/routing RFI’s, preparing change orders, communicating with client on a regular basis, checking for safety compliance, completing weekly statements, maintaining records of disputed work, monitoring subcontractors, notifying client of non-compliance, and other required duties.
  • Perform construction closeout duties for projects including reviewing project for acceptance, reviewing site with the design PM for acceptance, compiling a list of deficiencies and following up to ensure project items are complete.
  • Oversee, mentor, and train other Project and Construction Managers.
  • Review project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct technical analysis and solve complex engineering problems as they arise during project execution.
  • Maintain effective communication and coordination with clients, stakeholders, and project team members.

Ideal Candidate: You will have a strong background in engineering, construction management or project management in the public sector as well as excellent communication skills. Your background will include:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Construction Management, or closely related field.
  • Possess a California P.E. license in Civil Engineering ideal, but not required.
  • Must possess 5 years’ experience in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and codes.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office and other related software.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Can regularly travel onsite in the Central Coast and surrounding areas.

This position is in the Arroyo Grande area. The pay range is $105,000 - $150,000 annually, depending on experience. This role is contingent upon a successful background check completion.
